Can't afford hardware cloth!! What do we do?

I completely forgot to check lowes. I just went & started reading about them (couldn't find the one you mentioned but found a 24x144 for $14.98) and a lot of the reviews say that it can't hold its own & needs to be put on top of plywood. Is there a certain gauge that people are using when they use them as the sole roof on rafters without any plywood?

Yer in Alabama. Snow load is not exactly an issue. As long as the rafters are reasonably spaced, the roofing doesn't need to be that heavy duty if you aren't going to be walking on it. Should be fine.

Thanks!! Now we did get a major load of snow this year when the arctic cold came through & it even collapsed our cat pen roof

but we, so far, have that handled. But we do have all year to upgrade to heavier gauge

we found this coop on Craigs list . 15 min from our house. It cost us $225. It needs a good scrubbing & paint job. We will build a detachable run for it. We are also turning it into a tractor. Keep looking on Craigs list.

That is very cute...but not big enough for more than 2 maybe 3 chickens.

It actually is bigger than it looks. I don't have the measurements. It will fit over 8 comfortably. We plan on getting 4-6. I will post pictures later of it up close with a person standing by so you can see it to scale. The previous owner had 10. I think that was to many. The point is.. keep looking lots of options out there .
