Can't decide!!!

Silkiemomma I noticed you do not have a door on your coop and you used chicken wire. I would love to be able to use chicken wire for now due to the cost of hardware mesh... Are you in a warm climate? I am thinking I need a door since we get snow...

I am not sure how to winterize these smaller coops...

there is a door on it now, this was about 30 min. after it was built because I had to get a bunch of Serama roosters away from girls, they were picking on them, basically a last minute build

I would start with a starter coop. Do A LOT of lookin at diff designs. I built one last Oct thought it was the best. Then my cousin built a n a new one and I liked some of his ideas! A friend of minew just bought a new house and there was a 7X8 shed with it that he just gave me. I had to insulate run electricity make nest boxes and the thing I LOVE is on my first coop my chicken door is hinged from the outside which is also insulated. But on my new one I cut a hole for the door then it has a door that slides via a rope that I can operate from the door way instead of going in the fence area. But if I were to build from scratch it would be 8X8

Ok, so I found a great starter spot in my yard (maybe a little close to the house but it will force me to clean it!) and I have ideas flying through my mind! I have even named the chickens I don't have yet!!

I am so excited and I can't wait to get started! I was bummed though that the shipping of the chicks would cost $39.95! There is a local store I can go to but then I have to be willing to not get the variety I wanted... decisions decisions!
