Oh, wow! Was her beak damaged as a chick (hard for me to tell from the picture)? She looks right as rain! Very pretty!

She came with an intact beak and her first night at my friends climbed out of the box and wandered over to the pet rat cage. so either got the end nipped off, or broke it jumping down from the top of the cardboard Petco Cat Carrier with the heat lamp on it. It got a much more secure home after that, then graduated to a 2 story cat condo then to the coop.

Rats would do that, maybe. I have pet rats and I can see one, or both of them, chewing the beak off a chick. It also could have broken if it fell, like you said. Looks like her beak grew back though!

The box and rat cage were floor level under a loft bed- still not sure how the chick got out! Glad it was not on my watch though- my friend felt so terrible
