Can't get humidity above 58% on day 18

Just entering lockdown. I have some small pieces if sponge cut up and both reservoirs filled. Humidity is staying around 58% or so. Ventilation is full open, so should I close vent a bit to at least get to 65% or keep vent fully open and cross my fingers?

They need oxygen so I wouldn't close vents. IMO 58% is sufficient if the RH has been ok throughout.
I have to ask if you are relying on the incubator readings or do you have a verified accurate hygrometer?

Honestly I never raise mine on lockdowm more than 60%. I prefer 50 to 60 % it should be fine. But do you have at least one other hygrometer your using.

50% is high enough...it is highly likely that humidity reading is way off.

Have you been candling your eggs?

No hygrometer. Couldn't find a small enough one and too late now.

Yes been candling. First time hatching so take with a grain of salt but it looks like theve hit the normal mike marks for hatching according to Google

Just a word of caution, never trust readings on an incubator even if it is brand new.
I was an industrial electrician and automation engineer for a long time. Electronics were notoriously faulty out of the box till verified.

This thing is cheap, small enough to fit in any incubator and accurate enough for hatching eggs.
