My farm is in the country & some knuckle head bought 240 acres next to me. He's putting in a neighborhood. For a year now all I hear is beep beep from the machines. Driving me crazy. Now, they have lights up & their working all night. I'm ready to sell out but can't right now because economy & I will need to get as much as I can for the place to buy more land elsewhere. I asked them awhile back to stop working at night. This guy has had utility trucks trying to tie his electricity from poles on my proberty. The trucks just drove into my hay fields like its there's. I kicked them off. The utility people said they own an easement on my proberty. I said let me see the paper work. They left. What should I do?

Sorry yes the utility company do own a easement , was giving when they ran the lines. plant trees under them or build a barn , they will cut those tree back ,so they look like crap, and if that barn is in the way, it will need moved or etc.

take it to court???? probably not.

Make a complaint with the police. There are noise ordinance laws that should come into place, so you can sleep.

I know they own the poles & wire but I've asked to see the paper work saying they have the easement which they can't show me. I'm trying to get them to move the poles there right in the middle of my hay fields.

They can't run the wires in the first place without a easement, which in some cases will be court order..

I just went over there & talked with them they could care less. Personally, I think its very inconsiderate of this guy to not have any respect for others. The owner is at home sleeping soundly & could care less about anyone but himself. Greedy!!! I asked the owner why he wanted to take away the country he told me that he just likes to work. I almost threw up. It's a sad thing that we are gonna have to sell 7L its been in the family for 60 years. I totally disagree with people taking away good farm land to build a neighbor hood on the land. Heck, I could be wrong but they have tried these neighbor hoods around here & there's not one house on them. Doesn't make sense to me.

So sorry, we saw acres, and acres of farmland destroyed this way, people bought, or much worse, tricked off their land by developers. Worked security in various planned and gated communities, and in my experience, the people moving in will be just as self-centered in general. When the market crashed, there were tons of those 'neighborhoods' sitting around empty and unsold with some of the houses unfinished. You'd see the deer and other wildlife move away from the construction en masse. I hope someone here can help you out in some way.

There WAS a lot of that going on around here..
Now you just see TONS of empty lots with streets poured but no houses.. foreclosed on.

What a waste!
