Oh my gosh, we may have an addiction problem. What started out to only get 6, is now up to 14 baby chicks. We have never had chicks before, we usually get pullet, after loosing our last 3 pullets 3 years ago, we decided to give baby chicks a try, it is becoming an issue lol.

We ended up getting , 4 production reds, 2 barred rocks, 2 Buff orpingtons, 3 Ameraucanas, 2 black Marans, and 1 Barnevelder.

We now need a bigger coop.

oh yeah it's in the air this spring... before chick season I had 10 hens 1 roo and 4 guineas all chickens are cochin bantams and 1 silkie hen... so I now have 3 buff orpington bantam chicks, 3 porcelain d'uccle chicks (2 are cockerel so going to sell) 2 mallard ducklings 2 runner duck duckilings (soon to be 2 more) 11 cochin bantam chicks I hatched out and was just given 8 silkie chicks so we went from 15 birds in total to 46 by the time we get our 2 more runners.... oh shoot almost forgot getting 7 bourbon red turkeys lol so that will be 53 yikes

I started out with 12 chicks. Now we have 17. We had 28 but some of them got eaten by a cat that keeps coming into our backyard...

Yes. Originally we were planning to get 4 but I came home with 8! Then one died, so we only have 7:(

Sounds like you need a few more. I was so surprised to see how well the week old ones did with the new babies, also didn't realized how big our first batch were until we got the ones, so fast.
