Hello. I have finally moved to a home with a few acres and can start raising chickens. I must be patient since my coop isn't built yet, but when spring comes we will have a flurry of chicken house building, "instead of the winter flurries I have now".
I am no farmer and no pro, I grew up around chickens for a few of my childhood years and have been missing chickens ever since.
I plan to have a core group of "pets" and some broilers each year for the family. Family of 7 so some free range hormone free food for my kids will be a great bonus. Unless the kids start naming the broilers then I may have a problem.

Sping can't come soon enough.
