Build a coop that is at least three times bigger than what you think you need. Double the number of nest boxes that you build into it. Make an enclosure that you think is really too big for the birds you have. .... You will be getting more chickens later. It's addictive. :) Have fun.

If you want blue eggs, look into Cream Legbars and Ameracaunas. Polish are fun but lay little eggs, Cuckoo Marans are very friendly, nice birds that lay a large egg.

This x100. You will always want more chickens, I promise. Build a coop big enough that you can add like, half a dozen chickens later and not crowd anyone. Because you will find at least half a dozen breeds of chicken you want. Probably double that.
