It's much like videos. If you see something that will be disturbing or not nice, you shouldn't click on it. If you see a thread that will turn nasty or argumentative then don't click on it.

I am staying away from those threads. And I do have thick skin. But having a different opinion does not give people the right to call them horrible humans. That's not being an "educator" That's being an ***hole

I was just over there reading the thread in question, and so now I will add this, when you are participating in a disagreement that SEEMS to me to be deliberately fanning the fire/poking the bear, do not be surprised if you get an unkind comment here or there.

I understand what you are saying, I really do. All I'm saying is, nobody, I don't care how many badges they have under their name, has the right to call people names just because they have a different opinion. Opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one. No reason to act like one just because someone disagrees with you. If you can't be open to other opinions, then don't have an open thread. *You in general, not you in particular*

Those folks don't get those badges easily. They are earned. So if you are having issues with someone who has one under their name, perhaps you should consider why you are eliciting that reaction from them. I have said it before and I'll say it again, sometimes it isn't always the other person. That goes for me as well, because there are times I can be a complete PIA, and I know that. But there are also some subjects that I feel extremely strongly about, and if someone is being or seems to be being deliberately inflammatory or obtuse, I might get upset as well. Those people are still human, and they are entitled to human emotions just like the rest of us, regardless of how many badges are under their name.

I’ve seen ppl (especially Kiki) call you a troll. I thought it was just a joke at first but I realized it isn’t. You’ve been a good friend to me on here so it offends me people call you that.

I called him a troll because he called himself one in a post he deleted. He also posted quite a few things that are the exact definition of a troll but deleted those to so ypu all wouldn't see.
I have screenshots of all said TROLL post. It would be trollish of me to post these publicly.

Yeah. It was all on the crazy thread of yours a while ago. I never called myself a troll. Also, I wasn't saying anything any more crazy than the rest of you.
If you don't want me to contribute in your threads then just simply tell me to go away, it wouldn't offend me in the slightest and I would quite happily say 'ok'.
I could name a heck of a lot of people I would class as trolls but I won't become it could hurt some people's feelings.

I am sarcastic by nature. IRL and online. I have a heart a country mile wide, but I have the most snarky, quick witted sense of humor. However, I am never intentionally cruel.

If you read something I post and think "Holy Moses. How rude."... Odds are that me and that person know each other and are being snarky together. I am not easily offended, as you shouldn't be online. Text is flat. It's hard to decipher tone or context. Do not be so quick to label someone as rude until you know the intention and inflection behind their words. If you feel like someone is being rude - reach out to them and just ask. Most of the time it's a big misunderstanding.

Today's "my poor feelers" culture has gotten out of hand. Grow a thicker skin and stand up for yourself. Ask the bully why they said X,Y,Z. You may just find out that they didn't mean it in the way you think they did. You also may learn that you don't know the whole story.

I love all of you. All almost 22 million of you. Quit your fussin' and hug it out if you need to. We all at least have one thing in common - birds.

I've been waiting for a thread on this topic to be created.
It's a subject that means a lot to some people, including me. If I've ever been horrible to anyone on this site then please send me a pm and I'll apologize.
Ive only been here for a few months and already I've had people call me 'a troll' numerous times, usually by the same old person. This is a forum which is designed specifically to gain knowledge on the topics of poultry keeping and also to have a bit of fun. Not to be MEAN to people!
