Can't you smell that smell???

Quote:
I did notice that the smell is coming from the area where the ground levels out..... there is a hill of sorts behind the coop/woodshed, then the shed on the level area... We dug the area up and laid down a thick layer of hardpack and have not witnessed any puddling etc... I did think of bleach, but was nervous about it hurting the girls - I will have to check it out again more this weekend when we are working on the nesting boxes. Ah yes, potatoes - def not a potato smell, isn't that a unique one

like broccoli - that one is unique also, esp when you forget you have a small bunch in the bottom of the crisper in a bag and it turns liquidy

We did dig the area up - the woodshed had been there a year before the smell hit - it is possible that we didn't notice it because we didn't hang out there and now we are.... There are a lot of areas on the property with a clay soil.... Will look into this one also

TURTLEBIRD - I don't think possums were mentioned yet - but might have been. We have raked out under the coop so many times since putting it up....

TDGILL - thanks for the compliments
