Looking for experiences with an 8 x 8 outdoor brooder and 4 x 4 hover.

I am looking to brood Cornish crosses through week 3.

    Actual capacity without issues?

    Feeders used?

    Number of water nipples used?

Also as a side question, galvanized trough feeders in a tractor. Are you putting them on blocks to get them up higher? I am concerned they are too low as to cause leg issues ?

    Thank you!

I just raised 29 chicks (was 31, only lost two!) in a homemade wooden 4x4' brooder. I used one 24" feeder filled twice per day, and three 1-gallon waterers. I cleaned all equipment at least 1-2 times per day, which I feel was a very important thing to do with that many chickens in one brooder. I put them out at 5 weeks.
