Cape cod

Please help! Need answers. I have 4 silkies and my grandpa really wants to see them and the only time I get to see him is over the summer at our summer house in falmouth, MA( cape cod). I was wondering if anybody new the law to keeping chickens on the cape. Please answer I need to get the plans set before summer comes along.

Hello Mike- I am contacting you from the Cape myself, and you will have no problem taking your chickens on vacation with you. How old and big are they? What are they going to be traveling in? I suggest keeping them inside at least for nights because of all the predators we have around here. From land and the Red Tailed hawks are bad too. Also think of possibly just bringing 2 of the 4 chickens. If you are a teen I suggest calling the Town Hall of whatever town you are going to and asking about the chicken laws there just to double check- if you are younger ask you parents for help before you call. You dont need to get into detail with them just say I live in , insert town here, and I want to get chickens- arethere any laws against it? If any it may say that there is a maximum # of birds you can have and then some town don't allow Roosters (male chickens). Good luck to you - your Grandpa is going to love your birds!

Thanks. They are just around 7 months old. I have four and out of the four there is one roo. I could definitely leave him at my house cause he has his other buddies. They will be traveling in a dog crate that is 42 inches by 26 inches. I would be keeping them in a shed my grandpa has and I would build a little run for them while is daytime. I am x4 so Ill call by myself and talk it over with my parents. Thanks for the info.
