Hi everyone,

I encourage you to get involved because now is your chance to tell the Barnstable Agricultural Commission how much you do not want chickens or roosters regulated in the town of Barnstable, MA. Their next meeting is in January and I hope you will consider attending. The date is yet to be set, but I believe it is the third Wednesday evening of the month. It is held at the West Barnstable Fire Station at 7pm. I hope to see you there!! I will get you a definite date too

I know they won't allow anyone to have a rooster with out 'special permission', but they want to ban/regulate chickens in general?!??!?!?

Outrageous! I will be moving to Barnstable county next year (for college) and I was planning on getting chickens then.

It's too bad I can't attend the meeting, but just know I will be with you in spirit.
P.S. I would be more than willing to sign any petition that comes my way!

Thanks, I'll keep you posted. You could write a letter to the Barnstable Agricultural Commission. Their address should be on the town's website. There are currently no regulations or permits needed in the Town of Barnstable to have roosters or chickens. Thanks for your interest!!
