Capturing ferals

Pigeons kept going in, eating the food, and leaving at will any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Sounds like you have "BOB WISE" pigeons. Wiring to bobs together to travel in unison may help. I had to do that in order for my birds to stop pushing aside my home made coat hanger bobs. Each bob I made was shape as a "U". That along with spacers solved my problem

I bought an $80 pigeon trap with bobs on both ends. I put it in a parking garage where the owner was asking me to get rid of his pigeons (I have a loft built and am ready to re-home 6-8...but I'm not having luck). I had one pigeon in after a few days, decided to leave it so it's friends would come join...and the next morning it was gone. Pigeons kept going in, eating the food, and leaving at will. I'm new to this, but the bob thing seems to really not work at all. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Pigeons are highly intelligent. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if they learned they could exit upon an new bird entering and flipping the bob door up. I have FOUR barrel bolts that close off my aviary, and my homers have opened the ALL FOUR barrel bolts themselves to open the door, on multiple occasions. Believe it or not, they are problem solvers.

Most of the times I have used a trap to trap ferals I have waited and watched, so I could prevent this.
