They all jumped, two of them hid behind a chair, and the other two just froze in place. They stayed completely still for SO long, it was amazing to watch. At the same time, I heard an owl "who who"-ing. Wonder if they were reacting the owl or the horn? Anyway, it was fascinating to watch those instincts kick in.

They better get used to the cars - they are urban chickens now!

Haha that happened to me except it was when i tried to imitate a rooster and was like, "Er er er er errrrr..." and tey did that. Maybe I did the signal for danger... I didn't know I could speak chicken!

A rolling "Er err" sound is actually the sound a mama chick makes when there's danger! I read about it recently and tried it out... they all responded correctly by flattening to the ground or hiding behind something! So cute! Glad I can warn them if I ever see a hawk now too.

Mine were scared by my golden suddenly barking right outside the spare bedroom door which I had left open. They really scrambled. I get mine used to the farm noises early by leaving the window open in the spare room They hear the roosters crowing cows mooing and dogs barking It seems to help them when they are turned outside its not so strange and they dont react to every noise
