I had to take a duck to the vet yesterday. I brought along a friend to keep her company. They cruised along looking out the window all cool like and cracked me up so I had to take a picture. I went through a fast food drive through like this. LOL!

The naughty one that went to the vet has been ignorning her free choice calcium. She is full of shell-less eggs to the point that she has a bulging belly. She is now in a crate with a ton of oyster shell mixed into her food so that she has no choice but to eat the oyster shell. I mixed meal worms into the feed also to encourage her to eat.

Here she is enjoying her late afternoon snack with everyone else circling in envy.

That is so cute. If you free range your ducks to you have to feed them oyster shells when they are laying?

Mine are not free range. They have a 30' x 10' pen with an attached 10' x 6' coop. So my answer is... I don't know.

I bet @Miss Lydia or @Amiga can answer that for you.

Mine free range, but I have a dish of oyster shell available at all times. I have it for my ducks and chickens. They take what they need.
