You know, from the pics on one of the first pages, he looks like RSL roo? Feel free to correct me. He is truly Lucky, if only because he was found by such a caring person!

LMAO!!!! My son was doing his best rooster impression and I told him that as soon as Lucky's feeling better he'll start crowing too...not 30 seconds later, Lucky stood up and belted out a nice "good morning to YOU" and from in the bathroom I hear my husband say "WHAT THE.....?!"

His leg is very broken, my best description is that it's broken on the bottom of his "drumstick" or right above his "knee"...does that make sense? Anywho, it's still splinted but he stands on the one leg and balances by sticking his wing out. I'll probably give him some more time out of the basket and on the floor today to let him exercise his good leg some more.

And he started pecking away when I offered him a little bowl of feed so I am totally impressed with the amazing turn around he's had this morning.

I'll try to get some better pictures of him this morning and post them in a little bit....out of curiosity, does anyone know if it's possible to post video???

He is one Resiliant Roo! I think if you can keep any infection down he will pull thru and adapt just fine. GO LUCKY!

I apologize in advance if i'm off-base- but in humans a cast is essentially the same as a drywall patch (worked with the stuff in school). It's plaster of paris powder on some type of gauze. I wonder if you could cast his leg??? I don't know how you could get it off, but it would be very firm until it healed... The patches are sold by the regular drywall plaster. I've been following this and you have been doing such a good job!!! It's great to see someone caring for a rooster. So often they are seen as "throwaway" birds... has anyone else tried this???
