Caramel troubles

I want to make caramel candies(not sauce) but I can't find a recipie that doesn't use cream or evaporated milk. Does anyone know of a recipie that doesn't use either of those? Or is it okay to substitute them with plain ol' milk? Thanks!
 
For all the formal training I had I still can't remember everything I was taught. I had the best advanced baking and pastry classes - 2 months of them. In my senior semester the candy kitchen I worked in was a candy maker's delight - and our chef instructor, Chef Elisabeth, made the best caramels... THE BEST...

I always refresh my memory on stuff by searching on Yahoo or Google for whatever it is that I am going to make if I want ideas or basic techniques. It took me all of 20 seconds to find this link... Please read up on making caramels. Read a number of the recipes and look for similar ingredients or techniques.
