Bree looked back at him. "Its not my decision." She said in a shockingly sweet voice, not hinting at her profession of a Sell sword.

Merek frowned. "Why not?" he asked, testing the bonds around his wrists. He grimaced slightly as the movement pulled at the wound on his back. "A sword through the belly would be quick. You could say I attacked you." He began to raise himself to his feet, as if threatening to do that very thing.

Raven nodded and took off at a run to get to the hidden walkway and over to her house. She slowed when she saw Linden coming out of her house, coming to a stop near him "You survived." She said then glanced to the house wondering why it was still dark.

"Yeah..." He looked exhausted, both mentally and physically. "Algar is dead, but Terrick and Mavis are in bad shape. Can you help them? I was just going to get some water."

Raven blinked and nodded, then went inside. She looked around the darkened interior then headed for her flint and tinder and started a small fire to light the candles. She used the light to check on Terrick's wound then went to check Mavis.

Linden returned momentarily with the bowl of water, which he set next to the bed where Terrick was lying. "Where do you want to put him?" He asked Raven, referring to Mavis.

As Raven began to check on him, Mavis stirred slightly and opened his eyes. His gaze looked blurry and unfocused, and he moaned in pain, his ribs hurting him again.

"Easy, now." She said to Mavis then glanced to Linden and pointed to a door that would have been completely hidden in the dark. "In there, there's several beds. Take a candle and light the way, please." She turned back to Mavis "One more time then you can rest for the day." She said and started to help him up.

The door opened on a hallway that had four bedrooms off of it, just enough for her family when they came to her in the past. Each of the room was now bare, just a bed in them.

Linden was surprised to find the four rooms branching off from the main area, he hadn't realized that her house was so large. He reached for a lit candle and pushed the door open, then held it for Raven and Mavis as they went through.

Mavis closed his eyes painfully and hesitated when Raven tried to coax him up. He didn't feel like moving anywhere, his chest hurt so badly. Finally, he closed his hand around Raven's and let the woman pull him to his feet.

Bree rolled her eyes, knowing he would fall down from his injury. "I don't believe in killing needlessly." She Said.

"Wouldn't... be... needless...ly," he said through short, pained breathes as he managed to attain his feet. He looked down on her, unable to completely straighten up. "Less you're ... sayin' ... I ain't gonna be wearin' a hempen cravat."

Raven helped Mavis to his feet then to the bedrooms, taking him to the first one and getting him to lay down on the bed inside. She glanced to Linden "We have a prisoner on the shore, and a friend who came to help." She looked to Mavis then back to Linden "If you can care for them a few moments longer, I will bring them in. Then we can all get some rest."

"Sure," Linden nodded to her. "Go ahead."

Once she was gone he returned to Terrick's side and began rinsing the wound on his calf with the water he had gathered outside. When it was clean enough to attain his approval he took the bandages from Raven's closet and began spreading the salve from a jar conveniently marked 'disinfectant' onto Terrick's leg. Hopefully the bandages would be enough to stop the bleeding long enough for it to start the healing process on its own... and prevent it from becoming infected. He was worried that Terrick could have made it this far, only to die in several days from a severe infection.
