Luna smiled. "Who are you nd where do you come from?" She mimicked happily.

Was the girl insane? Mocking a group of armed strangers that surrounded her? Terrick didn't have time to deal with something like this right now. He exchanged a quick glance with the other guards and the slightest of nods. From behind the girl, Issac, a strong, but wiry man grabbed her, pinning her arms to her side. Terrick stepped forward. "I don't have time for games, girl. Answer the question."

(I'll reply later when im on my computer)

"I dont have time for games, girl. Answer the question." Luna mocked. She kicked the guy behind her and wrenched her hands free. She then ran to a tree and climbed up. Sitting on a branch where she could see the pople and they could see her.

(She is being held by a man who is likely much stronger than she is, and surrounded by a bunch of trained guards with their weapons drawn. I find it highly unlikely that she would be able to somehow free herself and climb a tree without being caught... but thats just me.)

"Those are the terms," Algar said, his own gaze not wavering.   "And you are not in a position to make demands," he went on, pleased to see that Merek had positioned himself just behind Linden to be best prepared to offer back up.  "Or we could put an end to this now," he threatened.  "Trust me, that option would simplify things greatly."

"Let me make our royal guest comfortable," Rook said, still sarcastically, taking the shackle from Algar's hand and bent down, intending to snap it around Linden's right ankle.

Linden ground his teeth together angrily as he glared at Algar. In his peripheral vision he saw Merek take up a defensive position behind him, and knew that the bandits were quite serious in their threats. Deep down he knew why they didn't trust him, he had been with the guards long enough to see how they treated prisoners, and quite frankly, Algar had no reason to help Mavis. If their roles had been reversed, Linden knew that he would have done the same.

"Fine." He growled, jerking his foot towards Rook. "Get on with it already."

(I must agree. It's pretty unbelievable.)

"You're smarter than you look", Algar said, just to further aggravate the guard. Rook closed the hinged shackle around Linden's ankle, securing it in place with a small key which he then tossed to Algar. The new bandit leader caught it and slid it into his pocket. He and Merek turned to head back out of the cavern, leaving only Rook, a man that looked barely 20 and so skinny his ribs might have been showing had he not been wearing a tattered muslin shirt. On his belt hung a short sword with a sheath in almost as poor condition as the bandit's shirt.

As Rook's fire began to catch, the smoke was being drawn up toward the ceiling and disappearing, hinting at some kind of opening to the outside world.

"Well, your highness," he said. "Not sure how you secured such special treatment, but you heard the man. What do you need for the kid?"

As easy going and good natured as he was, Linden was finding it increasingly difficult to ignore the bandit's barbed comments and taunts. He knew they were just looking for a reaction to give them an excuse to throw him back into the pit, and to exercise their power, but very slowly he could feel his temper wearing thin. Once Algar and Merek left the cavern he looked away from Rook and lowered Mavis slowly onto the cot. The boy was shivering now, and his skin was a pale blue color with cold. Until now Linden hadn't thought about how to treat Mavis, but as he looked down at the boy he realized that the limited amount of medical training he had probably wouldn't be enough. Without another option though, he had to work with the little knowledge he had. "Get me another blanket, the kid is frozen. I'll also need a bandage big enough to fit this spot on his forehead, something to treat infections and... would you happen to have another set of clothes that might fit him? He shouldn't stay in these, they'll get the blankets wet and he'll never warm up."

Rook might have been about to make another jab at Linden, but closed his mouth and actually seemed to give the prisoner's question some serious thought. "There's got to be something around that'll fit him. I'll see what I can find."

Before leaving, he put a small log on the fire since the shackle wouldn't permit Linden enough freedom to reach the flames.
