(Because your response was that you didn't know how to respond and I didn't want that story thread to stall.)

"Where's this pit at?" Terrick asked, still studying the map drawn in the dirt.

Pike grunted and looked impatiently at Luna. "Cat suddenly got you tongue or something? Speak up, girl!"

Before Karin had a chance to answer, Brylla entered the larger cavern that the bandits used to take their meals.  Seeing Karin and Algar, she started to approach, but paused when Algar gave her a warning glance.  So instead she went to get something to eat and sit beside Col, who was busy drinking himself into a stupor.

Algar looked back at Karin.  "Well...?"

"How am i uppose to know? He ran away and when i caught him he hit me. Once in the knees and once on my cheek. I wacked him on the head so he would go unconsuos." Karin looked at Algar and gave him a i-dont-know-what-else-happened look.

"And then you put him in the Pit?!" Algar sounded frustrated with the girl, but had no reason to really doubt her story since the boy had, in fact, been unconscious with an apparent clunk to the head when Algar had seen him. "Listen, if we take a prisoner, we usually don't want to kill them by dropping them unconscious into the Pit. From now on, get Tianea or someone else to at least wake 'em first, okay?"

"I-im sorry.." Karin looked down at the floor.

As Rook hurried over, Linden busied himself with calming Mavis into a slightly more relaxed and rational state. He placed himself in a position which blocked Mavis's view of Tianea and eventually succeeded in consoling the boy. "Mavis, what's the matter? Are you okay? Do you feel any pain?" The latter was a silly question he realized as soon as it was out of his mouth, but Mavis didn't seem to notice.

"Please don't let them hurt me again, Linden." He pleaded with wide blue eyes, then hung his head in shame. "I tried to fight them off, honest! But t-they... they were too strong for me."

"Easy... slow down," Linden tried to speak as gently as his deep voice would allow. Although he didn't show it externally, his mind was slowly building a picture of the evenings events. He wished that he hadn't been occupied with Rorik in the wagon, otherwise he might have been able to see something.

"What is he talking about?" The gentle tone of his voice turned sour and cold as he turned around to look at Tianea.

(Assuming Luna pointed out the pit so that we can move on with this part of the story, at least. :) )

Terrick whistled and scratched at his stubbled chin. "That puts us in a bad spot no matter which entrance we go in. You said this is the back one, right?" he asked, pointing to the one near the waterfall. "You might be right that it ain't guarded, but that's an awful lot of cavern to go through to get to Linden and Mavis. Only takes one slip up and they'd have us cut off. This front one's a lot closer. Quick in and out."

He glanced at the two girls. "Either of you know how many men the bandits post as guards?"

Raven shook her head "I didn't stay around long after seeing the tiger." She paused and looked at Terrick "Before you ask, I am not sure if it is with the bandits or not. It attacked one, but seemed to be helping the other take the boy inside." She shook her head slightly "I have never seen a white tiger in these woods before, but I have been gone for many years." She said and looked out into the growing darkness

Pike raised an eyebrow and looked doubtfully at Raven at her mention of the tiger. "A white tiger? In these forests? Impossible!" He scoffed.

"We're not talking about a dog or a horse here though, a tiger is a wild animal. They don't just start assisting people out of the blue." He retorted grumpily. "If both of you have seen it than my doubts about its existence are lessened, however, I think we should be treating it as more than simply a domesticated tiger who just happens to be living with the bandits."
