"They are hurting now..." He bit his lip to help mitigate this pain, then remembered his manners. "Uh, my name is Mavis, by the way. Thanks for helping me."

Raven smiled softly. "Anything else that need to be looked at before we move on?"

Mavis shook his head lightly. "No, Linden patched up my forehead already." He said, referring to the gash he had received on his head, which was already covered by a bandage that had been supplied by Rook.

"How do you feel, kid?" Pike asked with a concerned stare. Like both Linden and Terrick, and most of the guards, he felt a small bit responsible for the well-being of the boy.

Mavis took a deep breath and ran his tongue across his dry lips. "Well, my chest really hurts.. it hurts to breath. And I feel a little bit light headed."

"That's to be expected, your ribs are broken." Raven said. She glanced to Pike as she took the shirt, smoothing it down over the bandages. "we need to get him out of here." She said and turned to put her things back into her pack and replace it on her back. She took her canteen off her belt and opened it, offering it to Mavis.

Mavis took the canteen gratefully and took a rather large swig of water.

Pike nodded. "As soon as Linden comes back. And Terrick mentioned something about a girl?"

 

[Frundette]

"She's right up there," Terrick said, pointing toward the branch in the tunnel where Linden had gone left. "To the right. They've got metal bars blocking the tunnel and have got the girl in the dark. Not sure how long she's been there, but seems she can't see very well. Who knows what they did to her." After seeing the condition Mavis was in, any doubts that the bandits were capable of atrocities were vanquished.

"You okay to move?" Terrick asked Pike. "Let's move up there."

"Yeah, I'm fine." Pike assured him. He flexed his fingers on the wounded arm and found that he could move them better then before. "I think its starting to wear off."

Soon after Pike had gotten to his feet, Linden burst into the cave at a dead sprint. The metal tube was clutched firmly in his hand and he passed it quickly to Terrick so that he could carry Mavis. After spending a fair amount of time caring for the boy, he wanted to see that through and make sure Mavis made it out. "We have to hurry," his voice sounded slightly out of breath. "The bandits are right behind me. Let's get this girl out and get the heck outta here."

Raven nodded and stood. "Yes, let's go" She said and started for the tunnel where the girl was being held. She held her light-stone, turning it on bright as she approached the bars and started looking them over, searching for a weak spot.
