I have a huge problem with birds eating our chicken feed in the coop. I am new to having chickens and I have a 300' fenced area so they can free range during the day and a 50' area with the coop closed at night. What methods have you used to keep birds away from the feed and larger predators away at night.

It doesn't bother me that other birds come and eat the feed, but our feeder is hanging in the coop. I've never seen a bird go inside of it.

I don't mind so much that they eat it. Its that they poop in it and the water.

My feed and water are inside the coop.

You could try a treadle feeder and water nipples.

Yes I am planning to put the food and water in the coop. I am making the coop much larger first. Thank you
