Cardinal came to visit my cage birds...

We have several Cardinals that live on the Ranch.. Ive recently seen 3 males and 2 females... at the same time so I know its not the same bird. They normally come and steal my pheasants feed... which is fine cause they are cardinals. But This morning when I was feeding the finches... I saw a red bird next to the cage... he did not see me, but was trying to get the lovebirds feed... so I was able to sneak around the lovebird cage and snap these 2 pics before he took off..

Regarding Bird Feeders... Ive notice the Cardinal at the red feeder as opposed to the brown metal feeder... do they prefer red?

I've always read that hummingbirds are attracted to bright colors, especially red. Perhaps the same is true for cardinals and all birds. And I know that hummingbird feeders are red and generally the sugar mix you fill their feeders with is colored red. Just my observations.
