Carolina Coops Copy Cat

Hello, Chicken people,

I am new to this Blog, I really need help. I love the Carolina Coops, especially because they base their designs on what would provide a healthy environment for housing chickens. Does anybody have any Carolina Coop like designs? I can’t afford the coops. I am way up in Northwest Montana, and I am sure on would be like 10k for a coop and to ship it. i am going to have to build it myself. Please help, and Thank you

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.

I like the basic concept they have and utilized a lot of it in my first coop design. It worked well for the birds. It was an unpleasant experience for me.
If you can afford it, I would do a walk-in coop design with a large attached, predator proof run. After having both styles, I would never recommend anything other than walk-in. With poop boards. The holy grail of poop management.

Yes, aren't they gorgeous coops? But you're right, so expensive. I'm trying to become self-sufficient, so sinking that much money into a coop is defeating the purpose, lol.
