Carton Hatching??? Am I doing it right???

Last Friday I took my turner out and placed my eggs in a cardboard carton. I did not cut a hole in the bottom of each egg holder and all I did was cut the lid off, put the eggs in the carton and shut the bator..is that wrong???? Can I change it now??? UGH!!! Now I am worried.....hmmmm???? Anyone help??? Thank you!!
