Found this in my roll out nest box with the eggs today. Anyone ever experience this with their laying hens?

Can you slice it in half and post another picture? Is does look like lash material. That can be a product of salpingitis (inflammation of the oviduct.) Here is some reading about it:

It had layers inside when I opened it. Would Pennchlor 64 treat bacterial salpingitis?

Most of the literature says that antibiotics may not help. I would prefer to use amoxcillin or enrofloxacin if I were treating. Jedds.com sells enrofloxacin tablets online. Dosage is 10 mg per kilogram (every 2.2 pounds) given orally twice a day for 5 days. It is not approved for chickens if that bothers you, and I would not use her eggs for at least a month if she lays more.
