I'm picking up eight 1-week-old chicks this morning and was told to bring a box. I'm wondering if they will comfortably fit in a cat carrier at that age? I don't know the exact dimensions of the carrier but its a standard cat carrier - the type you would use to take a cat to the vet....

They'll fit. You'll need to lay a towel or something soft down for them- shredded newspaper, pine shavings, etc. You may also want to lay a towel over the holes to keep drafts out.

It seems I carry everything BUT cats in my cat carrier.....

Oh & congratulations!!!

Thanks so much! I thought of the towel to cover the front and keep drafts out but didn't think of one to put inside - I'll go and get it ready right now :-)

That is the only thing I use for transporting mine. It's has more ventilation and seems to be the best thing I have.
