Hi Everybirdie, my name is Chocolate Chip and I have a problem.... I can’t stop getting into the cats’ food. Wet, dry, whatever — if it’s in Hamlet and Ophelia’s dishes, I gotta have it. Mom lectures, puts up barriers (as IF — I’m a great little flyer), and tried moving their food, but I’m too smart for her. Now she tries to catch me by sitting outside so I’ve learned to be very quiet to sneak past her. I even came out in the rain the other day when I heard a can being opened. Look, I know it’s bad, but it’s sooooo good!

Mom’s even posting my mugshot here to warn everybirdie about me. I’m so ashamed (NOT)!

Chickens have to have animal protein for feather development. Is there a chance she could just be craving animal protein?? I give my girls dog food once a week.. Although I have noticed; if a hen can get to any food they will eat it.

They get turkey starter and occasionally scrambled quail eggs. Maybe I should increase the egg treats. Thanks!

What a pretty girl!

You can tell already?!?! :bow (basking in your wisdom) I wish I could. Our Swedish flowers are only 5 weeks old and I told my son we'd have to wait till somebody started crowing or laying to tell them apart.

I'm not making any guarantees! Maybe I should have said "pretty bird" and left the gender out of it
