Cat food for chickens ??

Hi all I have 3 chickens and they keep coming in the house to eat the cat food, I don't feed them but if my cats leave it, then the chickens come and find it ! Will this harm them or will be ok !!

It won't harm them in the amounts they are getting - in fact, many folks use cat food as a way to get animal protein into the diet of their flock (since many commercial poultry feeds no longer use animal protein in their formulas), and it can be especially helpful as a protein booster during molt.

I hate to be the one to break it to you but those are both males. They're probably just enjoying the extra protien they get from the cat food. I have a hen that comes looking for it every evening.

Yes they are both male I have 3 chickens two male and 1 female, the female not so bothed about cat food more the males, I must say they are clever chickens come running when back door opens lol

i open the back door if I'm cooking or cleaning up etc... Think I need a children's gate on it to stop them from coming in they to friendly not scared lol
