Cat has eye injury! Help please!?

Thank you! But none of the vets here are open yet unless it's a life threatening emergency. I've called and get the same recorded message about covid and keeping animals safe about 4 times! It's very frustrating!
Oh man, that does sound bad, keep an eye on your cat though, if you notice the eye getting worse you really have to send it to the vet because it can be dangerous.

Okay I'll have to look into that. Hopefully there's one around here who will do that. And I'll be keeping an eye on him tonight and make phone calls in the morning. Thank you guys for your help! I'll keep you posted!

**UPDATE**
Alfie's (his name is Alfredo) eye is looking better. Not as swollen but still red. I cleaned it with the saline then with plain warm water.

I know I will get a ton of slack for this but I had gotten in touch with an after hrs vet who said that if I could get him to swallow it then it's 100% safe and completely effective on pain and swelling. Luckily I had some bc my husband had a horrible access in his gums that his Dr said to use it on as well.

I gave him just a couple drops (what the vet said) of pure hemp non-thc canniboid oil. He hated the taste but he got it anyway. It has showed tremendous results and the vet said as long as it's pure hemp non-thc then he will have no side effects. She said they actually make cannibis oils for cats and dogs and human grade is very often used in horses, cows, and other large animals.

About an hour after I gave it to him he was up and moving around and being his normal kitty self. He is playful and acts like nothing ever happened. When he came in he went to sleep and didn't come out to eat or drink or anything. I am watching him for any other signs of infection or injuries I can't see as per the vets instruction. Will update in the morning. We will see how normal he is overnight. He likes to get up on the counters when everyone is sleeping and knock things down so he can get some attention! 🤷😁

I'm cool with that.

That's good. I was hoping not to get a bunch of backlash! I know alot of people are against things like that. But my main concern is making sure my cat is okay. And he did get up on the counters last night. We had a crab/crawfish night and he was looking for scraps and knocked down some things in the process. Lol

The swelling came back just a little so I'm gonna give him a couple more drops today and wipe it again with the saline. It does look better than yesterday tho!

If you have some antibiotic ointment (like plain Neosporin or the store brand of the same) it is safe to use in the eyes. Rinse with saline like you've been doing, then gently pry open his eye and coat it with Neosporin.
