Cat injuring hens!!

Hello, so recently a cat started comeing around my chicken coop it started of just sitting there watching the hens from a distance now the other day it took ripped a chunk of my younger roosters thigh area off and has been trying to get in the hen house every chance it gets.. I've been considering shooting the cat with a bb gun not to kill it but maybe it will go away. Any ideas? Thanks

Set a trap. If it’s a feral cat without a collar, personally I would shoot it to kill it. Your chickens will be better off, and frankly so will the cat.

The cat would already be dead if it attacked my chickens.
