Cat jumped into his lap and scratched for no reason

I had to lock my cat up in my bedroom because she had jumped into my younger brother's lap and scratched him for no reason at all. I watched it all happen so I know that he didn't do anything.
I'm about to head to bed so she won't be in there alone for too much longer.

What would cause a cat to suddenly scratch for no reason at all???

Maybe she remembered when he sat on her tail earlier that day and couldn't hold it in any longer! Honestly, cats, like chickens do the darndest things my friend
