Cat killed this wild songbird~ can anyone ID him?

Carolina Wren. Your cat got lucky. Wrens usually terrorize a cat if it's close to a nest. Almost as bad as mockingbirds. They feed mostly on bugs and can nest in small spaces.

I love wrens! They have such jaunty little tails and a perky manner!

Though I hate to see them kill the songbirds, cats gotsta be cats and its a sign of a great hunter to be quick enough to kill birds.

I agree it's a wren. They use to nest in a wren box at my Mothers house.
