Cat litter keeps your brooder fresh smelling!

I found PDZ at the feed store after reading & researching on the internet....I LOVE IT! Makes for easy cleaning, cleans up the solid floor in my coops & takes care of the smell. I scrape up the poop, sprinkle PDZ & DE, rub it like scrubbing the floor and done. It's all natural and makes cleaning so easy. Thank you BYC readers who have posted threads on it. This site is very helpful and everyone's input on subjects gives us different perspectives.

This is my 2nd time with chicks first time I used Pune shaving and they always got it in their water huge smelly mess. This time I am trying puppy training pads. Before I go further with this is it safe. I just got them yesterday

I've tried puppy training pads, works GREAT! Pine shaving do end up in the water, forever removing. You may want to try bed liners that are used in the hospitals/adult care homes, cheaper that puppy pads found at WM or any drug store. Haven't tried since I have puppy pads for my Chi who won't go on the bed liners, although my past Chi did.

I use the puppy training pads too. Not as smelly as newspaper and so easy to clean. Now that my batch is 2 weeks old they are on pine shavings and doing great.
