Cat needs to go??

If the cat is a good mouser i'd think twice before getting rid of her or him. As already mentioned chickens will fend for themselves, chicks can not you might want to keep an eye open for that, but for the most part here on the homestead cats have never been a problem, Keep in mind if you have one mouse you have more and they eat and store a lot of feed.

As long as your chickens are adults, I wouldn't worry. The cat is still a kitten and prone to flights of fancy - the chickens will remind her of her place one day. One of our cats thinks he might like to one day take on a chicken so he watches and stalks, but he always runs away when the chickens give him the stink eye. Rodents are much easier and more bite sized.
