I found an old thread from 2011 on here about how to catch a loose rogue chicken. LOTS of good advice but I live alone so I could only do so much and had tried multiple things.
Anyhow, she was what I call a teenager Millie and I don't let them out in the summer because of coyotes, hawks, etc. But somehow she got out. She was in the backyard under the pine tree and I shoudn't have had a problem getting her in from there but friday my friend brought her BC over and she chased her in front of the house. She was hiding in the boxwood bushes and the fancy tall grass I couldn't catch her at all. At that point she was lost, not the brightest bulb on the tree. Anyhow that was friday and today is tuesday. I finally caught her by putting a millie (noisy) rooster in a live trap next to another live trap. Put mealworms in both so he'd call her. And hung a towel over the side so she wouldn't see me coming. TADA. thanks to the good advice on here I finally got her back in the barn, last night at dusk a great horned owl showed up and I thought she was toast but we persevered. Thanks for all the advice, great forum !
