Earlier today, I finally caught one of those suckers! They went back to the abandoned cow pond and bundled up under a small holly tree at the water's edge. As they started plunking into the water, I caught the last in line with my net.
After that, I immediately took her inside and clipped her feathers. I'll try for the other two, but I'm really happy just to have the one back.
