I have had my share of experiences since I added both chickens and quail to my backyard farm. I am sure the first incidents were coon or opossum, since they were able to pull the chicks straight through the poultry wire. I have changed it out with hardware cloth and they have been safe for about two months. Now the neighborhood cats are stalking the birds. I didn't think it was a big deal, but somehow the cat was able to reach in and snag the head of one of my quail's head. Poor thing was swelling up in the face and blood running down its head. It didn't make it through the night.

What do you all do about neighborhood cats jumping over the fence and stalking your birds?

You can always use a live trap, and tell the neighbors politely to try to keep their cats in their yard. Or you could SSS
