An early Christmas gift. How sweet!

We’re you here last year when Wolfie dropped a mouse in DD1s bed on Christmas morning? That one was luckily dead, but now hes bringing them in alive. :barnieHe must enjoy watching us shriek & chase them.

I don't believe I was! 🤣 I think I'd scramble out of bed regardless of the status of the mouse!

Casper has yet to kill one, at least since he's been here. The one from under the tree he set loose in the living room a few minutes after he trotted out with it and it vanished under the bookshelf. :barnie

Also, merry Christmas to those who celebrate it! Possibly last update on Casper and the tree, not sure when it'll go back into storage again... He decided to pull a couple ornaments down yesterday and bat them around the floor. They were re-hung, and he's not given them a second glance since. He has spent most of his time under the tree since the mouse incident, I guess hoping to find another one (and thankfully not!). No further mayhem. Guess our tree is too boring for feline shenanigans! 🤣

The tree is up & once again, so far so good with the cats.

They are very intrigued & spending a lot of time checking it out, but so far haven’t made any attempt to defile it… yet.

Well, today, on the day the tree was to come down, Casper has claimed his very first victim in two Christmases under his belt. It was a complete accident, he really hasn't batted at any of the ornaments since Christmas. Instead, he had put his paws up on the tree to sniff higher branches, and that shook it enough that a loose bauble fell and hit the brick of the hearth, shattering.

Casper is traumatized by the vacuum being used to clean up the mess, but otherwise not sure what the big deal is. At least he waited until I was awake so I could clean up his mess without him getting hurt by the shards.
