Cats!!!

I love cats. I have two and both of them were dumped on us when they were kittens. I will never understand how people can dump their unwanted pets instead of finding another home for them. We took them in and they are a part of our family.
Callie is my baby. She is where ever I am. I am a quilter and she loves it when I sit down at the sewing machine.


Aeris is more standoffish. She will let us pet her, then she wants to be left alone. She also doesn't cooperate with getting her picture taken. LOL

Today my feral cat ShadowKat was euthanized. She only had 1 kidney' and had kidney cancer. This picture was taken right before she was euthanized at 2:25 PM today.

ShadowKat was a feral cat living at the house we bought 2 years ago, along with another cat Patches. I somewhat tamed her, got her spayed, although she never had kittens before her spay which the vet thinks could have been a sign of her poor health, she was under weight 2 years ago and never gained, no matter what we did. She was a feisty little girl, and she loved being outside, never would use a litterbox. I believe Patches to be related in some way to ShadowKat as they allowed each other in the yard but no other cats. During her exams the vet could not find her 2nd kidney, and her only kidney had an extremely large mass on it. She was dehydrated, weak and couldn't stand, her temperature was way too low, she was tested for feline luekemia and AIDS but was negative. But the vet didn't think she had a chance, especially after finding only 1 kidney and the giant mass on it. Not even surgery could have saved her. My family is devastated by her loss, I am just glad she isn't in pain anymore. She actually came to me meowing for help, and she was never that tame and clingy.
