Yup I have 9 badly shaken call duck eggs 11 days in. I'm hoping for a few otherwise I'll find something closer that I can pick up, eggs or ducklings.

My mom and I used to do koi ponds. Haven't had one in years though and she knew more about the constructing end than I did. She was good at many things. Gone since '95 unfortunately. I'm sure I'll need plenty of ideas. When I'm bored(yeah right) I'm slowly making a mental list of what will be best. But filtering that is another matter.

I think ducks poop more than koi, which is saying something, had to get that out of the water.

Exactly it'll be challenging to maintain. And I have spring water, good supply but not enough to do 400 gallon a week water changes. So filtration will be key. What fun!

This took me a minute to grasp, total opposite of systems I'm accustomed to.

Water doesn't touch and therefore can't clog the pump until it's been through 4 rounds of filtration. Maintaining that could just involve dumping the settling tank often and flushing the media? Anyone built this yet?

What would you use for mechanical filtration? Pea gravel? Lava rock? Then bio balls or.

Half barrels for chambers?

Water touches pump, but poop doesn't.
Tangential flow into vortex(even better if vessel is cone shaped) settles out bigger detritus, which can then be dumped. Valves between and in the bottom of each vessel allows separate cleaning, vortex is most often dumped.

Anyone built this yet?
