Caught another WILD one :)

Whooo Hoo I caught another wild peacock well its a peahen it is an India Blue girl. Who knows where all these peafowl are coming from in this town. Oh well makes me happy

Its rather odd she is some what sweet, my other peacocks run from me and fly at me. She will let me pet her, she just sitts on the roost, Sometimes she hisses at me though

I don't have any peafowl where we live anywhere...
Infact if I ever saw one..I would have freaked trying to figure out where the heck it came from..hehehe

Maybe someone has a peafowl farm somewhat near you?

What do u mean fly at u btw? I need to be prepared for this?

No there are only 2 people in this whole town that have peafowl, me and my neighbors who live 8-9 blocks from me. I callled them and they said it isn't theirs. SWEET.

She seems well, not sick at all, I think she is stressed she hop's from roost to roost, she is showing no signs of being sick.

And lol wannabechick. Mine only fly at me because they don't like me because I caught them as WILD birds. I think they are mad because I caught them. But actually I saved their lifes it was rather live with me or get shot LOL.

I have one peahen.. for a week now.. and she starts to move to close to me... I start sweating.. LOL/ thinking is she about to attack me.. while i am sitting in the run.. its quite comical.. whose more scared of who.. me or her.. LMAO

and now next week.. 3 more are coming..hehehehehe..

Interesting.. dont cha think.. they are just showing up.. and no one around has peafowl.. that is wild.. guess you were just destined.. and if you spoil them rotten.. and give a fabo home.. then they are really lucky.. cause getting shot.. is not fun..!!!!!!! winkity wink

Yeah it hurts, its stings SO BAD!!!

In my case its not who's more scared of who. I am TERRIFIED by them LOL and they know and they take advantage of me

I try not to go into the run because they are only agressive when they are out in the run not the coop/shed.

I mean if u get peafowl from a breeder that has a huge farm..and then get them...and sends them to u, then aren't they wild too..in a sense..okay u got me freaking out now..

NO yours should be perfectly fine and TAME these peafowl I have, have been wild for 3-4 years so they are NOT used to people at all.

Yes they do fly up in the air but they dont spur me they just fly at me...

They dont bite me just HISS at me it sounds like a cat. I think it is funny, I don't mind being attacked I just get real scared LOL.

Don't freak out, ALL peafowl are tame gentle B-E-AUTIFUL creaters. Mine were just so used to being WILD. The one I caught today I told about hasn't attacked me or flew at me. And she was wild I can PET her so yours will be fine. DONT FREAK OUT....

How do you catch them? Also my uncle's mature male ran away when the mature hen was hit by a truck and he had no mate. Then a few months later a BS male showed up out of nowhere and it must have decided that the baby hens (the old pair's chicks) were mature enough so he stayed.

I catch them with a large fish net. And a LIVE animal trap. I had more success with the net then the trap. It is a long proccess with the net but it works. I had to chase them around for hours then they would fly then they would run finally i just started throwing my net hoping that it would land on them and that worked the best.
