That is the divider. If i take it down the coop will be 8x8 . Currently i have shelves with planting materials (dirt and seed trays pots no chemicals) and feed stored on the entry side. I may reconfigure in the spring when i add a couple pullets, but for as small as my flock(5) isnt 4x8 sufficient?

I guess I was confused by the first pic, where the panels are in front of the nests and roost.
The second pic shows them differently.

I have a hen that is super picky about where she lays her eggs .. if the nest box isn't just right with at least 2 fake ( or real) eggs in it, she freaks out and acts like the nest is gone and she doesn't know where to lay I'd experiment with different things and see if she's just very particular..
