Cause of a backache - back from the dr.

No, I thought of that. Too low to be the kidneys and my last home UTI test was negative.

Hmmm...Ya must have pulled something then...
Nothing worse than back pain..it affects your whole body...

Well I was trying to clean up the house tonight for company coming tomorrow, but I gave up because it hurts too much to walk. DH had already forbidden me to run the vacumn and said he'd do it tomorrow. Thank goodness the kids aren't due to arrive until late tomorrow evening.

Ummm I bent down to give the dogs some water and sneezed and threw my back out for a week!! Yeah...the fall could have done it very easily. I laid up on pain pills for 4 of 7 days and I HATE meds!! That dog has 4 legs let it walk..lol!!

Hope the back gets better soon.
I can say I know what you are going
through as I have been going through
it for the last 3 years
Get better soon.

I get low back pain when my hips are out of alignment, something that happens occassionally and has to do with the way I am put together. A couple trips to the Chiro usually fixes it.

Yes, twisting and falling can strain your back.

A few weeks ago, my Partner and I were snowshoeing through some deep snow. My snowshoe caught on a root that was sticking up out of the ground hidden by the snow, causing me to fall forward. I had my coat open because I was warm, and didn't want to get snow all over the inside, so I twisted to the left. I don't recall it hurting at all. It was very hard to get back up though, as I was laying headfirst downhill in deep snow that my arms would just push through when I trying to press down on them. By the end of the hike my back was hurting quite a bit. It seemed to get better though over the next few days though.

Fast forward about two weeks-

Back mostly fine, hurts a little when standing for an extended time, but feels fine when walking, sitting, etc. Feels on the mend. Then one night I go to bed and wake up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain and barely able to move. The next day it feels as if someone were standing on a bar positioned over my lower back. Even went to the Dr. , it was so bad. Had a week of muscle relaxants, ibuprofin and ice packs. Now it's been two weeks since that and it feels much better.

Lol! Long story short, falling and twisting is bad for backs! Don't carry anything as precious as a puppy for awhile!

Yep, DH forced me to sit down last night. I complied but insisted he bring me the puppy to cuddle on my lap. Puppy is now too big for even that. It hurt just having him sit still on my lap.

If you, at ANYTIME, experience numbness of your legs or your "saddle area" (any area of your body that would touch a saddle if you were sitting on it) get to an ER immediately. I had to have back surgery last year because my left leg went numb. I had had back problems ever since I got (shoot, forgot the name of it) whatever they call it when you are in labor and they put the needle in your back to block the pain from your waist down. That was 17 years ago. Since my surgery, I can do whatever I want. So much better.

I hope yours is just pulled muscles. One thing you can do if you don't have a heating pad is get an old sock (or new if you perfer), fill it with uncooked rice, tie the end shut and pop it in your microwave for about 45 seconds. It heats the rice up and makes a great heat pack. Also, take an antiinflammatory like Motrin or the generic.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. I already have the numbness in my legs, but that started before the backache. It's from the hemangiomas pressing on the nerves that control my legs. Not much better today, but I have some painkillers that help as long as I eat with them; otherwise they make me
