Cayenne pepper and now all blackhead symptoms are gone!

I live somewhere where Fish Zole is unavailable, and every other metronidazole product! Oh lord did I try to find it... It seemed like my only hope. But since I couldn't get it locally that is why I tried the cayenne. And I did treat with Valbazen after the turkey was strong enough to take it. It's in the "Day 7" description. Thanks though!

I think they were trying to find it in their loca l feed and pet stores.

I had something similar awhile back. "Mars" my lapper was acting like she didn't feel good, was unsure if it was depression from losing our Tom or if she was generally sick. I noticed yellow poop so I knew something was wrong started searching and found the worst cases of blackhead, I found the cayenne treatment on this group so figured it was worth a try Mars hated me for a few days but it seemed to help. She'd take a drink of water with the cayenne shake her head and look at me same with instant mashed potatoes but she improved and eventually recovered. She still hasn't laid any eggs since but she's too much of a friend to care about that. It's amazing what these birds can end up meaning to you.

Lol, I still address mine as "the Tom" and "the Hen" I guess that'll change if my hen hatches eggs. It does make whacking them easier, though.

My hen wasn't supposed to be a lapper but things changed she really is a "daddy's girl". She's a really neat bird and surprisingly well trained to a point. I didn't know I was doing this but because everything I ever gave her water in was black she only drinks from black bowls and tries to drink my black cell phone. She also knows where her bed is on those special occasions she gets to sleep in the house on my night stand (only happens on really cold nights and once or twice during the summer)
