Cayenne Pepper ok in the summer?

I've been reading some of the posts regarding cayenne pepper. Some say it helps prevent (manage) worms while others say there's no evidence of that.

I've also read where it can help egg production if added to their feed...something about it warming them up enough (like in the winter) to produce eggs.

Well, if it "warms them up", could it make them too warm in the summer heat?

Is it just mostly given in the winter months?

I think the cayenne pepper is used for maintenance after you've wormed with a chemical wormer such as wazine 17 or pour on ivermectin. I've never heard of it raising the birds internal temp to help them lay eggs. That's a new one on me. Then again what isn't, I'm a newbie too!!
