***Cayuga Duck Insane Quacking**

Hey all,

Just curious about this one. At around 7 am my cayuga (female) goes wild with her quacking. She always does a movement with her head where she moves it up and down over and over again while quacking her little brains out. Just curious if any of you know why she does this or you've seen it before. Thanks!

She wants to mate. That's like a dance my girls do that to my Drake's outside the pen. She is all good

The up and down head movement is a dance?? And I have a Drake!

Yes, she is calling for someone and is telling them that she likes them, especially if it's a side to side head bob. The up and down head bob can mean the same thing, or it can mean, hey, let's go! or hurry up!

She just wants to mate it's natural. That does not mean she will go brody or, in other words, lay on eggs.

She always does that but she won't go brody. ( the one in the front and the one in the back " dances" the one in the middle can't lay eggs) :cd

Is it common for the quacking to be so consistent? Every day at 7 am she does this.

Every time my Drake's come to the side of my girls pen they do that. Mine usually do it almost constantly.
