Cayuga Ducks?

I just wish they carried more types of birds. The one here only chickens and ducks. My favorite feed store carries Ducks,Geese,Turkeys, Peafowl, and more. They have babies as well as adults. It's like a candy store for poultry addicts

I have a call duck pair and 8 Cayugas, four males and four females. (The ducks are younger than the drakes, so they aren't paired - yet.) I absolutely love all my ducks, but Cayugas are the only breed I've purchased. (I hatched the calls.) I absolutely adore my Cayugas.

When I bought the males, they were straight run from a feed store. They were ALL black, bills and feet. As the drakes mature, their bills turn more greenish-yellow. I purchased the girls from Metzer Farms.

You gotta get some Cayugas!!

Love my Cayugas!
I have the most wonderful drake that I hatched from eggs I got here on BYC. My girls are only average but I hope to get some marvelous specimens next spring. That drake is just a real head turner and I would love to have some ladies to match his beauty.

My drake was this years hatch but he has not ever been able to lift his big torso off the ground. He is quite hefty. He flaps and runs when the horse or dog scares him but never has been able to take flight. Few of my breeds do except my young Muscovy. Now that is a sight to behold!

Im a Muscovy freak, but I had to have some Cayuga and Im so glad I did. They are awesome ducks. They aren't real vocal, are calm, easy going and so darn pretty.

Mine have green in them of course, but also some purple and blue!!! They add something special to anyone's flock.
