Cayuga/mallard has mated with my rouens

Rouens are not supposed to be able to fly but if you can breed them so they can then good for you! From what I know rouens and all other standard breeds of ducks are too heavy to fly, so I am not sure if stroger wings will help but you can still try :)

Like not fly you know how chickens can like run flap there wings and got for about 4 feet infront of them not really "flying" just flapping there wings and jumping

Like that just the ones with stronger wings get up higher .

It's only like 2 of them anyway

So the Cayuga have you had any problems with them

No problems :). I actually think they are safer from hawks that other ducks. I had two buffs with the cayugas and both buffs were killed by a hawk. I think it was because hawks are attracted to lighter colors. Also hawks don't like shiny things and cayugas turn iridescent green and blue and purple in the sun light. This is just my theory but it might not be true.

This thread is about Cayuga , mallards , and rouens so no offense but you didn't have to be rude about anything :(

My intention wasn't to be rude. It was merely to point out that it's not necessarily great forum etiquette to continually bump a thread that nobody else is replying to.

He really is beautiful

And I know how you feel none of my domestic ducks have been attacked

But a hawk has been attacking the smaller wild mallards and we've rescued one hen who's eye was taken out by a hawk and her neck torn up ,( thankfully the neck has heeled but one eye is gone )

We've been debating weather to release her and let her die immediately when she tries to fly or go get her pioned.

If she was origionally wild, I would put her back in the wild. She will still be able to fly and survive with one eye. That was very nice of you to heal her back to health though :)

Oh I see. She would definetly be happier back out in the wild, but she would be safer in captivity. If it were me, I would let her back out but its up to you.
